I've found out that a lot of adults still listen to modern music, but would prefer the genres; rock, pop and rap.

Star Text

My Star text will feature a solo singer, which means that its crucial for him to look dominant, confident, ambitious, unique ( to some extent) and very importantly, smart. His clothing, will be very smart; blazer ( might change), a black or white shirt, with black jeans. This is important as the star-text must persuade it's audience that he is knowledgeable in general and knows solutions to problems, therefore the audience will follow and stick to his side. as reference I have looked at, the 'billboard' ( since billboard shares similar demographics as i intend to) magazine for Bruno Mars is incredibly inspiring and i might use it as template or as inspiration to follow when creating my front cover magazine since he is wearing smart clothes, and is extremely appealing especially to his fans. The mid-close up is important as you get to see his star-text, his clothing is especially important, with very strong lighting making his skin very soft, clear and emphasises its beauty. Furthermore, the big sun-glasses he is wearing showing that he is dominant, confident, successful and smart. I would play around the props featuring the star-text to see which ones suits better, but preferably I would have the star text in a mid-close up, with a fedora, and smart clothing, with him either reaching out for his fedora or touching his costume to some extent.

A potential name for the band.

The band will have a name which is going to most likely be some sort of acronym. The name of the band will be 'Apolo' which stands short for Awakening, The idea of being inspired and motivated to do new thing. Pain, the idea that there is a obstacle or other contemporary issues, further relating to the music video. Ongoing, the idea that the obstacle or issues is constant. Loss, the idea of having no-one, and being all alone and sometimes just simply losing someone. and lastly, Oblique, the idea of being at an angle, not being in your mindset, and other foggy clouded thinking.

Music Video Analysis

Music Video Analysis

Music chosen; Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons

The narrative has to be related to the lyrics, whilst still following the conventions. The narrative is gonna represent the main theme of 'Loss, Loneliness, going the extra mile for someone you love' since these are some of the reoccurring themes in the lyrics as well. The narrative must be based and influenced on these themes.

One possible interpretation of this song could be about a person who is stripping themselves away of their misdoings towards their significant other, hence the term 'bleeding out'. Despite the fact that the significant other wanted 'just to bring you down' that person is still willing to forgive, to become 'transparent' or vulnerable toward their partner. They tell their partner to 'hold on' despite the fact that their partner is giving up, he or she doesn't want to give up due to their strong feelings and bond and would support and be patient with them and therefore would want to carry on. That person is taking all of the responsibility for the 'counting of sins' which could be interpreted as a song about humbling one's self for the sake of maintaining a healthy relationship.

Majority of the cuts will be slowed down, with a white and black filter/ greyish to give it a sense of darkness. The colourless lens degenerates the emotions and emphasises the themes; loneliness, loss'. There will be a lot of slow-motion and cut-to-beat as well as the cutting with the lyrics. There will also be a lot of camera movement, camera following the singer around as he signs the lyrics. There will be a lot of cross-cutting between the singer singing and the narrative featuring the reoccurring themes, with some contemporary personal issues people may have or have had.

Close-ups of the Audience, such as this, are very effective as the camera slightly zooms into her, there is an edited transition into some of her personal issues, her problems. Which influences me to try or work on ideas such as these. An example or idea that i used as inspiration from this shot is to get an establishing shot of a person walking in the middle of nowhere through a birds-eye view and it starts to zoom in, going through long to close-up camera shot and transitioning into their personal life and some of their issues.

The main singer, will be wearing a costume, black and purple-like costume. This is because I want the iconography of the lead singer to be looking as smart as possible, this is to show people that he is very knowledgeable and he knows what he is talking about in his lyrics. Furthermore, He is going to play a very humble-like character as if he is open to feedback and to personal problems, so people can see hope and inspiration in him. This is to help them get through their problems, and inspire them to go the extra mile despite the obstacles. Additionally, the clothing must look professional since the target audience is a much more mature audience, which is why it is important to aspire them to keep walking that extra mile and keep going.
