Music Video
The intro will start with our main character, the singer, waking up early in the morning or during the night, feeling dizzy and distorted. He changes and leaves his girl-friend who would still be sleeping on the bed. Looking to go far away from home, possibly 'America' as said in the lyrics, but leaves in regret. Which should be demonstrated through a close-up of him tearing and slowly breaking down as he is leaving her.
The intro will also include the male waking up in distress and slowly leaving his partners bed. Which would be shot through mid, wide and close-ups. Then, he will get dressed, as he is having a miniature flashback of them having an argument and then transitions back to the male but he has finished changing. He will be looking back at her once more, and then a small, close-up shot-to-shot of their faces before the departure before the singer releases a tear where the camera will pan it and transition into the chorus of the song.
Accompanying These lyrics:
'Cause we've been driving so long'I can't remember how we got here
'Or how we survived so long
This is the opening shot of the music video, This shot would be a close-mid shot of both characters in bed, sleeping. The shot will be taking from a high-angle leaving the natural sun-light to give out it's perfect lighting. This is similar to the shot taken from the 'Avicii - Wake me up' music video, (at second 0:15).
I'm trying to run from our pride
At least set fire to my atmosphere
The camera would be focusing on showing that the singer ( the male) is leaving the room and is getting changed; perhaps into formal more formal clothing. And entering a flashback.
And I remember how I spent the 23rd
Feeling six feet under when I'm 30, 000 feat in the air
Chasing that sundown
There will be a small transition into a flashback of the singer and his partner having some sort of conflict, before the camera brings and flashes and transitions back to reality where we find our singer changed.
So far east I'm westbound
Feeling like the edge of the world is near
This is where the singer sheds a tear whilst looking back once more at his partner, The camera will pan the tear and then a smooth transition into the Pre-chorus.
But you'll feel better when you wake up
Swear to God I'll make up
Everything and more when I get back someday
This is the scene where the the singer is singing, accompanying himself with a piano, shedding one tear,
Shooting stars all break up
This is showing the singer singing solo, accompanying himself with a piano. Also showing some sort of footage of transportation - * Changeable*
And even though it seems like half the world away
Things will be better in America
Heard the streets are gold there
Maybe I can fly you out this place someday
Third location is in progress of being introduced, This is where the singer is leaving, and is going far away- towards 'America'. - This will be in some sort of transportation method; Bus, Car, Train etc...
Screaming through your airwaves
Looking back I almost thought I heard you say
Shifts back to the singer, singing the lyrics ( lip syncing), as the camera slowly zooms in into another flashback. moving onto the main chorus
Stay you're not gonna leave me
This place is right where you need to be
There is a small conflict between the characters and the female character lip-syncing the lyrics, before shifting back to the male singer.
And why your words gotta mean so much to them
And they mean nothing to me
So stay you're not what you're hearing
'Cause I've been watching you changing
The camera shifts back to the singer and he plays the main chorus.
And who said you're one in a million anyway?
After the singer finishes singing lyric, the camera will transition back to the singer travelling.
'Cause you see only what you want to
Your tunnel vision haunts you
And you can't see what's wrong with you
When you keep sleeping through the PM
Eyes wide open when you're dreaming
The Singer, is in his transportation vehicle and there are a lot of shots taken as he is looking forward, toward his goal, reminiscing / hark backs ( opposite of reminiscing)
You're sleepwalking
Just keep talking
Maybe you can talk your way out of this deep end
No b plan in your system
In this part, the camera shifts back to the singer, who will be lip syncing this part.
Just tell me what you'r thinking
I'm scared that you might fall
The camera will shift to the singer finally leaving his transportation vehicle. And looks towards his new future.
But you're not
But you're not...
The singer lip syncs this part, A close-up camera shot of him slowly lip-syncing.
And you'll feel better when you wake up
Taking off your make up
Sun always seems to wash our fears away
And it's always shining somewhere
I just gotta get there
And even though it seems like half the world away
The singers partner finally wakes up, and roams around realising that her partner is missing.
Things are better in America
Heard the streets are gold there
Maybe I can fly you out this place some day
Shows the Singer singing in his second location.
Chasing dreams like I'm on Novocaine
Screaming through your airwaves
Looking back I almost thought I heard you say
The singer is in his new location 'chasing the sun' / dreams.
Stay you're not gonna leave me
This place is right where you need to be
And why your words gotta mean so much to them
When they mean nothing to me
Going back to the female character, showing signs of her grief over the singer leaving.
So stay you're not what you're hearing
Cos I've been watching you changing
And who said you're one in a million?
The singer in his new location is trying to comfort her through distance.
